THE B-17

The part of the 17 that I knew best. The seats shown here in the afterdeck were removed, though a table and bench for the radio operator was installed on the left behind the bomb bay. A pivoting gun pokin upward through the plexiglass over the radio operator's table was also removed. The bomb bay of th 17 was small relative to the plane. The gray area in the wing behind the engine nacelles denotes the fuel tanks. The small tanks behind and below the top turret contain the vital oxygen supply.
