16 November Hornbill Bungalows, Ko Chang
Beautiful mostly sunny day with
light breezes. 22km Got 3 fried eggs and toast, chocolate waffle (gave
strawberry waffle to cooks) plus my muesli and Myanmar tea. Followed coast
including delightful mangrove forest, then turned across open water, a bit
choppy. Tide flow a minor factor. Brief stop at village on north side of small
Ko Dtakrut. Noodle soup lunches at much larger village on north side of Ko Sin
Hai. Then on to Ko Chang. Long drag of kayaks at low tide. Rested, then went in
short jungle walk south on path. Bungalows simple. Solar power and temperamental
wifi at house, evening generator for bungalows plus little battery fans.
Hornbills came for fruits left out. Spicy Penang curry dinner. P. Oui and
Mathilda took ferry. Chris and Areeya sped across water to first village, then I
went with Chris and Chow with Areeya. Water gently crash near bungalow at night
during high tide.
